It takes less than an hour of your time and asks almost nothing of your body — and for someone else, it can mean the difference between life and loss.
You can likely donate if you are:
| Step | Approximate Time |
|---|---|
| Registration | 10 minutes |
| Medical examination | 10 minutes |
| Blood donation | 8–10 minutes |
| Refreshments and rest | 15–20 minutes |
| Total visit time | Approximately 30–45 minutes |
You’ll feel a brief needle prick as the draw begins — most donors describe it as a small, passing discomfort, nothing more. We collect 350 mL or 450 mL depending on your weight and eligibility, using sterile, single-use disposable equipment for every donor, every time.
Myth: Donating blood makes you weak.
Fact: Your body replaces the donated fluid within 24 hours, and the blood cells over the following weeks. Most donors feel completely normal within a short rest.
Myth: Blood donation lowers your immunity.
Fact: It doesn’t. Donation has no meaningful effect on your immune system.
Myth: You need to fast before donating.
Fact: The opposite — a healthy meal and good hydration beforehand make for an easier donation.
Myth: Vegetarians can’t donate blood.
Fact: They can, and do, regularly.
Myth: Frequent donors run out of blood to give.
Fact: Whole blood replenishes on a predictable cycle, which is exactly why repeat donation every 3–4 months is safe and encouraged.
